Sheffield Hallam University
Nov 1st, 2016
As part of my 3D Game Art module at Sheffield Hallam University, I was tasked with bringing up-to date a section or portion of a level from an important title at least ten years old. This environment would involve utilising modern techniques in both modelling, texturing and rendering to achieve a level of graphical fidelity achieved in ‘triple-A’ titles in 2015 and beyond. This environment piece was created within one semester whilst I tackled two other projects.
For this project I re-created the Tanker Lounge area from the ‘Tanker’ chapter of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty.
This was the first time I utilised UE4 in creating a living, breathing, PBR based environment.
If you would like to find out more about my research for this project and a breakdown of some of the key elements that encompass this scene, please head over to the blog section of my site where you will find corresponding PDF files!
